I've already killed 2, alts killed 2.

I'm new to combat. I can't handle a boar.
14 Agility, 2 Marksmanship, 7 Exploration, 2 Farming;
Boar Tusk helmet, backpack, leather body armor, poor mans belt and gloves, nettle shirt, leather pants, leather boots, stone axe and a bone saw.
You think this will handle a boar?

40 mms + q20 sling or 20 mms + q60 sling

trap the boar (full seal, DO NOT TRAP YOURSELF IN A ROCK UNLESS ITS A FULL SEAL) and then fire away at the starfish

I did it with 14 MM and a q6 sling. Not hard.

10 UA and 15 Melee got it done, but it wasn't pretty.

What I always did was have the boar chase me into an enclosed pen back at camp, then lock him inside and shoot at him until he tried to run
Then you can go into the pen and attack him by hand, which does much more damage, and he wont attack you back.

i build a gate ou of noob fence, or use any of my current gates.
have them chase you to it, then close it on them.
they get trapped in it an you can range ir from afar.

Just run past the loving things, or try to sneak around them keeping the boars off your screen. DURR
