Question about the PSU: When it gives the pin count for the mobo, it says 20+4 pins, and in every mobo I've looked at it says 24 pins. Is this one in the same?

Also, do all cases have the same kind of mounting options for a mobo, or by buying this case will I only be able to buy certain mobos?

20+4 pin means that it is compatible with older motherboards or different ones. They are the same as 24 pin.

Just about all cases are the same - all mid towers will hold ATX, Micro-ATX, and sometimes E-ATX.

So basically what you're saying is I don't need to worry about mobo compatibility when buying a case?

As for the OS... maybe. If you can find an XP install really cheap then at least I'll have an OS. I'll probably upgrade to Windows 7 when I have the money.

Unless, does XP have a 64 bit version? Will I be able to use a 32bit OS on a 64bit processor?

As far as I am concerned, right XP is about as much as W7. I also managed to drop the price here down to about $700 while still making it better...

Anyway, this buy-as-you-go scheme is nice because it will make saving a lot easier, at least IMO. Instead of having to save $900 to buy everything and get rebates, I can buy something, mail in the rebate, wait for it to get back and continue saving motivated by the thing I just got and being helped by the rebate that's coming in.

I forgot to use every single rebate on my computer. 

Also 20+4 pin just means that the 24 pin connector can have four pins snapped off so it can be plugged into 20 pin motherboards.

How's that case/psu combo look to you?

Also, I found a cheaper version of that combo with a 500w PSU. Should I go for that and just buy a new PSU if I ever decide to upgrade to beefier stuff like two GPUs?

Edit: It also includes a 500w power supply. Could I use that one with my build or do you think I should get a better one?

NO. I have that case, except mine is black and green lights. The power supply that came with it is garbage, my dad bought 3 of the same cases and the power supply in every one of them went out a few months later. (about 2)
