Here is another art thing I finished in 3 hours, this is a simple background for a platformer/shooter type thing for flash. Its not nearly as good as I would hope. :P


slight page stretch for smaller res monitors, sorry

oh, and an updated version has a fogish gradient over the front so the bottom of the frontmost islands look like they are foggy too which looks better than this picture

i've been dying to find a free program that has good AA for the pen tool and has autocircle (or something like it) recently i've been stuck to paint.net which has really bad AA with my mouse (msn even has better AA) and iScribble

Here is the character sprite sheet for the hero of the game.


stuff took ages.
Had to mess with the head and arms for the left/right flip as well as do different shadowing on each sprite so it matched the background as well as repositioning the body and head and drawing the limbs for each one. Towards the end I got really fast at it but it still took quite a while.

Anyways, what should I name this dude?

the only name i could think of was Runner

you could leave his name anonymous. i always find those characters cool

i don't really like how he's flying though. i personally think that he would look better with legs

He wont just be floating on the platforms, he will actually be flying about.
