Anyone else notice that some playthroughs in The Passing, Louis asks Zoey and Francis "Should we have told them?" which Zoey replies to "No, it's hard enough out there..."

What could they mean by that? What could they have told them?

Googled some stuff up and found out the following:

At one point Francis states "I'm tired of the military". If you remember, in Blood Harvest they escape with the military, which is what they were trying for the whole time. The military was possibly trying to experiment on them to find a vaccine of some sort to figure out what makes them immune (carriers). Or the military could be killing off carriers so they cannot spread the disease, but somehow the original survivors escaped, and do not want L4D2 survivors to become depressed and give up on their journey finding out that the military is going to kill them. Another possibility is that there is no rescue in New Orleans, since the original survivors possibly came in the reverse of the L4D2 campaigns. The last possibility is that sometimes someone asks if the highway to new Orleans is cleared up which Francis states "Err.....Yeah it is" but is also a lie since it is piled up with cars, forcing the new survivors to continue on foot.

Check the links, they explain it way better, mine was more of a summary. When they ask if Helicopter 7 is equiped for carriers that means if he has the suitable gear to confront them, possibly a hazmat suit or samething so they cannot carry the infection to him and infect him, this way he can deal with them and perform any tests on them, or kill them if ordered to.
