Author Topic: Gravity Cat's Add-On Dump - Particle_ItemSparkles released!  (Read 2257506 times)

True as that may be, (not that I'd know) you can put a scope on it (I think.), and it's definitely probably a rifle.

ninja: 159 get.

The SL8 is not a sniper rifle by any means.

K.

Kinda looks like it though.

So it's kinda like an M14, where it's not a sniper, but not an assault rifle. I'd still like it in a pack.

Looks can be deceiving. The SL8 is sort of an assault rifle but not really, it's a civilian rifle used for target shooting and stuff, it's not even close to a sniper though.

There's no question about it that it's a rifle and you can put a scope on anything with rails.

Yeah, I just wanted to make it clear that I honestly have no loving clue waht I'm talking about.

The first few pictures I saw had a scope. And that + the long barrel and big bulky size made it look like a sniper. But being just a rifle, it's pretty cool. I suggest a rifle category featuring the SL8 and the M14. Higher damage than any of the assault rifles, 10 rounds, slow firerate, above average recoil compared to assault rifles. Not sure about range for either though.

I'd have fun with them.

That'd be stupid, SL8 fires 5.56, so it wouldn't do any more damage, it'd have less ammo and a slower fire rate, unnecessary addition.

M14 is a battle rifle/DMR btw.

Didn't think battle rifle was a regular term. But alright. So the SL8 has no redeeming features on it. But the M14 does, right?

It fires 7.62x51mm, has superior range and selective fire (Semi and auto, I dunno if gcat is adding this feature on any guns though). I guess adding it to the pack would be cool.

I'm not familiar with battle rifles or civilian rifles. But I do know the M14 has alot of variations to pick from. The most modern looking is the EBR. Not sure what differences there are other than looks. But there has to be a viable difference between it and the regular versions, because of how different they look. They don't just make guns look better for the hell of it.

Yes they do, the M21 is a sniper variant, DMR was made for USMC to fill that role, EBR is tactical to fill the needs of today's combat. They all fire the same the same ammo and have the same bare features, M21 is a more accurate variant, but their isn't much different between the EBR, DMR, and original.

He already wants to make an M21. So it might actually be cool to have the EBR varient too. And I can see alot of people using it because they never fire full auto with assault rifles. Shoot at a not-quite-a-sniper range. It'd be pretty cool. And I can see it being one of those that's hard to master, but if mastered, would be able to dominate pretty well.

Also, you obviously know more about guns than me, which sniper do you think would be good for the expansion pack compared to the ones already made/planned?

I think an SV 98 or a Remington MSR would be nice. It would be a second bolt action sniper (excluding the Truvelo) and they both have a nice look to them.

Please get another map or switch to a decent build. You should also make it so that the left shoulder is up when you have a gun out and that the gun is closer to the center of the body, how it is now it looks handicapped because it looks like the blockheads invisible arms are being stretched out super far and awkwardly.
I don't have any decent builds, sorry. For different maps, ask Digital. And to the problem with "not finding teammates" etc, is a bit like a fortwars with more than one standard spawnpoint - with the difference that you have things you can easily recognize, like bridges/etc. If you start alone you have to find your team. But if you can't find anyone you can ask if someone in your team can try to find you (maybe that guy knows the map??). And when everything fails, just place a teamspawn somewhere and/or build the whole base.
I noticed that the other team often just fails in doing one or any of these things. Maybe they don't want to (like "Why should I do everything for them??") or just ignore the teamchat/etc. I usually try to organize all that, that the team comes together and/or that we get a base as soon as possible.

To the stretched arm thingy, sometimes it bugs me a bit, too... dunno why I haven't changed it yet.

I wouldn't want to play this until the XM8 is made, because it just seems like an anti alien assault rifle.
It was stupid to "just" try that out. Didn't thought about it enough and just threw some weapons together for the alien-team. Soon we returned to the good old Gov vs. Rebs. And yup, one moment I had the thought "Maybe I should make some kind of alien assault rifle..."

Selective fire is... well, even more stuff. And to be honest, you just can click fast or whatever, or you hold down the mouse button just a short time for bursts...

Try Tank Battlefield, with some outposts made, and two or more spawn rooms with almost all the weapons (Vending machines XD? Takes up less space, maybe SMG vend, Shotgun vend, Heavy vend, etc.). Building allowed, but no wrench so you can't make noob traps or impenetrable barriers.

I had built up a safehouse once. And later on a teammate came in and put in a team spawn incase we want to leave and get killed. Then after they left the server, the teamspawn they placed quit working. So it's not only a problem of people having to build stuff for their team, but they have to be in the server still in order for them to use anything.

I've had plenty of times on both teams where I had nice and fair bases made. But once I had to leave, it screwed everything up because my spawns and weapons wouldn't work if I left. And so it isn't just spam, I delete it all before I leave. And then it's back to square 1 for whoever is left.

I think it needs more structure, so people don't have to build everything themselves. Because the way it works now means everyone will pretty much be building just for themselves, becase no one gets use out of it once they leave.

I'd be happy to just sit down and build the entire map over and send it to one of you if it meant you could turn building off and people would still be able to do well. The weapons would all have to be placed in the server, since I don't have them. But that's nothing really.
