just got the video for Cee-Lo Green's "forget You" onto my device from YouTube, which is not normally supposed to be able to be put on mobile devices because VeVO is a giant friend and disables mobile downloads upon uploading official videos. so I installed OpenSSH on my iPod and WinSCP on the desktop and used it to access my iPod's internal file directories. from that point I downloaded the music video in MPEG-4 (.mp4) format and then transferred it to my iPod with WinSCP.
