Hey Skip, by the way, you should download Ubuntu if you have a steady Internet connection. It's not a huge download, shouldn't take long, and is better than Fedora in my personal opinion (more personal, easier to use, and overall more fun). You can download it from ubuntu.com.

This is technically my stepdad's computer and I really doubt I'm supposed to replace the OS without his permission whether it's broken or not (again, running the Fedora OS from the disk, if I restart my computer it has to reload the whole thing. Windows -- or what's left of it -- is still on here).
He still doesn't know anything's wrong and I can never find a decent time to tell him without fear of him flipping stuff and blaming me, as I know he would.
