For some reason the people models (and the ship at the beginning) are disappearing and reappearing and sometimes incompletely (I only see triangular pieces and eyeballs.

Solution?

Give us your specs.

Open run, type dxdiag then post what is listed next to processor and memory. Then click on the Display tab and tell us what is listed under device.
