Which Pokemon game should i play

I currently have access to all of the basic pokemon games, that means no pinball or TCG or any of that. Which one should i play? Name a starter too. It'll be fire type.

I like the variety of attacks water has, and fire hsa pretty much only 3 you can learn without TM's/HM's.

And if you are playing a 1st gen game/remake using charmander is a PAIN
