Valve Cancels Portal 2 Event at Regal Theater, Promises a "Big Surprise" Instead

This just in from Aperture Science, the big Valve and Portal 2 event to be held at the Regal Theater next to the E3 venue on June 14th has been canceled! Don't worry though, Valve and Aperture promises that the event will be replaced by a surprise!

Aperture Science is pleased to inform you that we have partnered with Valve to announce the gala CANCELLATION of the June 14 Portal 2 event at the Regal Theater. The event will be replaced by a surprise. And even though the cancellation of the event certainly counts as a surprise, we are pleased to further announce that the cancellation of the event is not THE surprise. However, per International treaties regarding the definition of the word "surprise", of which both Aperture Science and Valve are signatories, the time, date and content of the actual surprise will only become available as you experience the surprise.

I still think Portal 1 was more of a proof-of-concept than a full game. It was fun, but I'd rather see the portal gun as a fixture in EP3 than Portal 2.

Also, I'd like to see DX11 support if their surprise is an engine update.

I am not looking forward to Portal 2, I'll get it when it comes out but its not really that great. I hope they announce Episode 3 coming out with Portal 2 or something, then I'll be happy because I just want to finish the god damn Half Life story.

As probably the one person who actually listens to dev commentary bundled in most of their games, it's no wonder their games take so long. Valve does not pump out half-assed stuff.
