I'm really getting tired of Valve's bullstuff. At first when they did stuff like this I thought it was pretty cool. But then they go "hey look everyone, PORTAL 2!" but then go "lol canceled we're giving you guys a surprise".
Why cant they be a normal loving company and tell us what the stuff is going on?
It's fun stuff. Instead of just "Oh yeah, this is happening then, here's what's going down:" It's more like "Oh yeah, this is happening then, but this isn't what you're expecting." It's just that consumers want everything spoon-fed to them. I LOVE what Valve does. They add excitement and surprise to events, not just anticipation for some screenshots and possibly a release date. (Maybe even a video if you're lucky) Sadly, a lot of Valve fans are whiners, so then they just get pissed when Valve does something original. I never expected Portal 2 to be announced through a BBS. No one expected the Portal radios. Valve also gives the players a chance to participate in the fun of this kind of thing, instead of watching a video of a developer opening a creative pox for a review copy of a game, or looking at a countdown splash image.
