because they arent normal
what kind of company gives out a free game? Valve
what kind of company trolls/tricks their consumers? Valve
What kind of company allows you to buy their stuff online? Valve
I answered it for you.

I don't want ep3, All I want is some Portal 2

portal is cool and all, but forget portal man ep3 is >>>

I'm really getting tired of Valve's bullstuff. At first when they did stuff like this I thought it was pretty cool. But then they go "hey look everyone, PORTAL 2!" but then go "lol canceled we're giving you guys a surprise".
Why cant they be a normal loving company and tell us what the stuff is going on?
It's fun stuff.  Instead of just "Oh yeah, this is happening then, here's what's going down:"  It's more like "Oh yeah, this is happening then, but this isn't what you're expecting."  It's just that consumers want everything spoon-fed to them.  I LOVE what Valve does.  They add excitement and surprise to events, not just anticipation for some screenshots and possibly a release date. (Maybe even a video if you're lucky)  Sadly, a lot of Valve fans are whiners, so then they just get pissed when Valve does something original.  I never expected Portal 2 to be announced through a BBS.  No one expected the Portal radios.  Valve also gives the players a chance to participate in the fun of this kind of thing, instead of watching a video of a developer opening a creative pox for a review copy of a game, or looking at a countdown splash image.

Eh, you might like it, but I'm just getting tired of it.
Oh well. I'll wait for the "surprise"

Day of Defeat 2
:D
Then again a Opposing Force 2 or Blueshift 2/Halflife 2 game played through a different character.

They're going to pretend to murder us by putting us on a fake platform that descends into fire. D:
It does kill you though unless you portal out :C.

"Valve cancels Big Surprise for Portal 2, promises an "even better surprise""

The big surprise is actually Gabe's summer diet plan, I'm sure it'll blow fans away.

Day of Defeat 2
DOD:S really needs to be updated
It's a really fun game and needs more content :c

The morality core will just fall out of GLaDOS again.
