What to focus on first?

Polish and mod completion (add special functionality to bugs and stuff that have been needing it)

So I've implemented the bot system into the Scarab-Wasps:









They aren't working 100% yet, but I should be able to get them done before this Thursday.
The whole "welder repairs your ASN robots" mechanic gives me so many ideas. ;)

Maybe the welders can do more than just repairs. If this works, Maybe they could also somewhat upgrade the ASN(as in shield upgrade).
In this type of situation, that kind of upgrade could make those ASN robots a little bit op to the Bugs and Mites. :/

I think it should make them go faster :D

Also, they should have a "fuel" bar at the bottom of their screen, and the more they move, the faster it depletes. when it starts to get low, they have to find a MAS base and recharge, or a MAS soldier could recharge them with the welder. It would be similar to the "Heat mod".
If it runs out of fuel before they can be recharged, they stand still and cannot walk. (they can still shoot, turn, and crouch, but cannot walk, and they have to wait until they die, or a MAS soldier finds them and re-fuels them).

If it's on time, then I might me somewhat late joining the server.

Upgrades would be neat, and I'll probably implement something along those lines eventually, though players will need more than just the welder to add upgrades (Either resources or an upgrade station. Or both).

Speed upgrades would be neat, but as far as I know, speed changes can only be done efficiently if the target is a bot, not a player (you can tell bots to run at a specific speed, as long as it's lower than their max speed. Players, on the other hand, always run at max speed so we would have to use multiple datablocks.

I'd rather not implement any sort of fuel system, since that would essentually leash ASN to bases, among other possible negative effects.

EDIT: Also some announcements:

Next Monday* is my birthday, so don't expect much progress then or the day after. I will finally be reaching level 19. :p
Also I will be going to college (part-time) starting next month.
This means that hosting dates will change, and progress on the mods will possibly slow down.

Don't worry, Lego Lad recorded some of the later fighting IIRC.



Has HanHan said, server was pretty fun once we had more than four people on it. Some things that will be fixed/changed eventually:

- The ASN had very short detection range, oddly. Hopefully I can fix this with little trouble. I will say though, playing against touchy, pacifist drones was rather funny.

- The Queens were too easy to kill, so I will be increasing their health. It may take several hosting sessions before I find a balanced health value, since I do want to keep things somewhat difficult for the queens and their guards.

- The falling damage of all bugs and mites needs to be adjusted. Soo many rounds were won by queens splatting on the ground... >_>

- The trenchdig portion of the build will be removed eventually. This is because queens hiding in closed off pockets of dirt drags out the match, and makes hiding the queen too easy.
Removing the trench dirt will also allow me to make the bug and mite hives more interesting, and extend the MAS area of the build.



EDIT: After some testing, the detection range issue of the ASN seems to be caused by Slayer, as the ASN would act normal when in a normal non-slayer minigame. Also, the site-range issue effects ALL bots, not just the ASNs.
Unfortunately this means that I can't do anything about this issue. :(

it should be hard for bugs to die of fall damage, because of their exo-skeletons.
