It's the gulf; there's ton more water on earth and the gulf isn't the biggest body of water on the planet, so stop getting all worked up about nothing.

Easy to say from someone like you who doesn't fish to get money. Maybe if your parents or you even made your money by fishing the gulf, you would be a lot less nonshalant about it. Not for a few years, at minimum, and by then our swamps that protect our cities from hurricane floods will be ruined. So, as a side effect, our cities will be ruined. This will cause a lot of damage to our economic system, likely kill a lot of people, and potentially ruin the lives of those that survive.
It is hurricane season now and if one comes along and pushes the oil into our swamps, we will be forgeted hard.
