It's just part of Obama's plan to end oil useage. He's targetting the public and making us think oil is bad, when really there are absolutely no side-effects to using or obtaining oil at all.

Maybe if you actually had the sea has a livelyhood, and where you get your money, you would think a lot worse about it.

Honestly, it's a pretty accurate comparison. Since 9/11 made the whole country work to fix it and the things destroyed, (Other then the towers, of course. And I guess you can't fix a random field =/?) sort of like the oil spill. And after it was over, it sort of brought us together, and made us realize that our safety wasn't completely safe. Sort of like how the oil spill shows the problems with our methods and our greed.
