Author Topic: The (new) Adventures of Kris  (Read 1302 times)

Ok, so a little bit of quick backstory:

Last year was a very boring year for me. In academe (study hall) I had literally nothing but free time. I like to draw, and took a kid's persona and made it all warped, fat, a huge nose, and stupid. Now this kid has a great sense of humor, because he loved them. Perhaps he loved the idea that I was drawing short little one panel comics, and he was the star. Who knows.

Anyway, one panels progressed into multiple panels and stretched across a multitude of stories. As far as I know, there are over 80 pages of this stuff, all done, one a day for an entire year (front and back) on 8x11 computer paper.

A pencil, no straight edge, and improv and imagination fueled these comics, and now I've decided to do something with them. The comics are stored in a binder with those plastic sleeved keeping them from being damaged. I told Kris to pick his favorite series. They are as follows:

The Adventures of Kris
How Kris Saved Kristmas
K2 (a short)
Kris Season 2
Kris: The Valentines Pen Adventure (done on pink paper in pen)
Kris and the School Project (a short)
Kris Spring Special
Kris II (sequel to Adventures of Kris)
Kris: Happy Birthday (2 day special short)
Kris Season 3
End of the Year Krisapalooza (last 3 days of school special)

All of these together are roughly 40 or 50 pages of pencil (and pen) doodles. What I've decided to do is digitally ink and refurbish these comics to worthy viewing, then self publish them. However, as a special treat to you guys, I'll post a new page every time I finish one.

What I need from all of you is support. This is really a time consuming process, and I need to know if you guys like it or not. If I'm doing it for all of you, at least I have something to shoot for.

So tell me if you think this has potential, if it's total crap, or maybe this doesn't suit you, but you want to see the next issue. Whatever your beef, tell me. The more support I can muster, the more likely it is I'd finish this.

What more, if you were interested in purchasing my self published book, I'd be willing to sign copies or put your name in it or something. You know, if you'd want that sort of thing. It doesn't matter.

Oh, and as of page one here, it does get better. I suppose they are rather funny, if you like fat idiots trying to save the world. To me, they've lost their charm, mostly because of the torture they've caused making them days straight, but now even more with the inking. UUHHG.

Dunno who remembers the old topic, but it's gone back into the depths of 'too old' and can't be bumped again. So, I started this one for you all. Because, now I have another page done, and I actually plan on finishing these. Note, the typo errors are still there from before. I'll fix em' later when I actually put this thing to print. Yay self publishing.

Why is Sam as big as Kris in the comic but not in the title/banner thing.

Oh, that's not Sam in the title/banner thing. That's James. We'll meet him later.

I remember the old topic--and I like the new page.. strip.. group of panels.. addition.. Yeah.

Page 8 added. Plot thickens. Morgan Freeman gets more facetime. He is fun to draw.

Edit: Oh yeah, and muppet Kris. He's like a clone of Kris, but made of cloth.

You're luck nobody saw you, kid.

He has a rather large nose.

Already been spotted.

He has a rather large nose.

Indeed.

I really like the art style. The text can be hard to read in some places, but I like where this is going.
