Author Topic: Fort Wars, what to avoid.  (Read 2975 times)

I've seen more and more fort war servers lately. I'm not saying the idea sucks, it's the server.
Reasons:
  • Admins love to abuse.
  • Bases are usually spam, events, and weapons.
  • Almost all have VCE turned off.
  • Have ridiculous rules and don't know how to turn add-ons off.
  • Some choose endless maps to have it on, therefore no actual "war" is going on. I mean, any version of slate sucks.
  • Builder rules. 'Nuff said.
I'm tempted to host my own fort wars server to show people what an actual fort war is like.

One of my servers (huehuehue) will eventually be a fortwars server. When I make it will probably be dedicated, so I, the admin probably won't even be there, or if I am, I'll be building, I'll turn off a lot of the abusive events such as radiusimpulse. Uploading files to my VPS takes a while, so I try to keep my add-ons to a minimum anyhow. And will probably use a map that everyone is familiar with, such as slope.

I think my server won't be anything like what you said, correct me if I'm wrong.

If you allow vehicles, setplayertransform, addvelocity events, etc. people can get out.

I'm not even sure what they do, so I've never downloaded them. Too complex for me. I think they help with the more intricate traps that people make to defend their forts, but I'm not entirely sure.

Your joking right? It's a miracle they are, I've hosted one before and all of your reasons for not liking it I didn't have, VCE was on, guess what happened? People SPAM ATTACKED, they shot 15 bullets at once at me, I encountered this twice in 10 minutes on my server(Different people), imagine a day of it >.>.

'Cause hosts don't understand the meaning of limits. I have very strict limits to prevent that on my server.

You can do many things with VCE with limits. I can do numerous events using VCE with the limits.
