First of all, this is a mod which lets you make creatures that aren't mirror images.

I do all of the steps and it doesn't work.
Everyone says that it's from Spore.VG, but that's gone now.

They added asymmetrical in spore via a patch. You don't need a mod.

Google it.

I don't remember when you hit it or hold it down or whatnot, but whatever.
