Author Topic: I'm getting APB...  (Read 1245 times)

Good idea for a game, bad execution.

I feel bad for games like that. They try so hard to be different, but they just crash in the end.

The game is extremely repetitive, it's no Saints Row, there isn't much depth to the gameplay or missions, and 90% of the time you are at a HUGE disadvantage because you are fighting players that bought SUP3RL33T guns. The vehicles handle worth stuff, it's literally more efficient to just sprint to your destination because the amount of times you'll crash your vehicle makes driving almost worthless. Combat is almost entirely luck, or whoever gets the jump, because while there's a "lean" mechanic, it's completely worthless and gunfights just consists of you running back and fourth, trying to get shot less than the other player.

HOWEVER, customization is absolutely PHENOMENAL. I spent hours just making outfits for my character and did missions just to get money to buy more clothes and stuff for my car. The only thing it lacked was weapon customization.

All-in-all, it's not worth it. If they completely overhauled the entire vehicle/driving thing, then it might be worth it, I guess, but otherwise it's just a waste of money.

Arcade style driving would be much better.

Stupid everything must be realistic 2010.

Thats saints row. :D
Driving like stuff blowing things up and sprinting to my destinations.

The driving should be like just cause 2, where your car can fall off mount everest 3 times without blowing up, and still be drivable.

You cannot compare SR/SR2 to APB, in all honestly. The driving in SR/2 is fine. It's not realistic at all, but that's not the point. The responsiveness of the vehicles makes them drivable, and I can navigate the city without crashing, at full speed, while being pursued.

APB's vehicle physics are horrendous. There is literally a 1-2 second delay in steering, and you have virtually no control anyway, so it doesn't matter. On the subject of "sprinting to destination", you're not getting what I'm saying. You're on a time limit and the objective is halfway across the goddamn city, and sprinting is a more efficient means of transport than a vehicle.

The gameplay may look neat, but you'll be bored/fed-up with APB in under a week. It's simply not worth the money. ARC is right, great idea, very poor execution.

I hate the delay in steering and cars explode to easily but I like the game its good when I have nothing to do.

It's GTA 4 with horrible performance, horrible lag, and with Forza Motorsport 3's car customization BUT ON YOUR SHIRTS (and with horrible organization), and it's pay to play.

Basically this. I was extremely let down.

Of course you're going to get this game; you love spending money on things people say you don't need.

You know me so well!  :cookieMonster:

BTW, do keys to the city still work, I haven't used mine.

If you're going to buy it, buy it. Don't make a thread telling people to convince you otherwise.

Did anyway. :D
