Unless your a skiller, don't become a member until at least 70 combat, because you will be wearing almost all non-member equipment as a member and there will be nothing good for your low level to train on.

Click the two swords slashing between them. It tells you your combat level, and it gives you options of what attack style you wish to use. Each one let's you train a different skill, example: Stab gives you attack experience, slash gives strength experience, etc.
