I can't set it up any other way. The cords are too short to reach across the room to behind me.

I find it quite helpful with posture; it forces you to not slouch or lean on the desk (You can't lean on it without it bending out of shape). Also if you have a hardwood floor, you can zoom around to different computers/desks and still have the keyboard at your fingertips. :)
