It's not like you're going to see a performance increase with 6 cores.  The most number of cores a game will use these days is 3.  So unless you multi-task like a motherforgeter, it's just about as useful as the i7.

It still seems that for the same price it would generally be better. Not for gaming of course but generally.

When I read "Graduating school" and "desktop" at first I cringed, then I realized that you aren't at that point quite yet.

Graduated elementary school lol. It WAS a private school...

double post because Zune HD web browser sucks and cant handle multiple quotes.

Yes, generally I would have gone for that but I game mainly on my PC so performance is necessary.

I don't think that there will be a performance gain from the i7 930 to the x6 as far as games go

Bump.

Is my PSU ok for running this?

Why don't you get the i7 920?

i7 920 - $294.99
i7 930 - $289.99

It's not that I want the 1.4 GHz it's the fact that its cheaper by $5 for some goofy reason.

lolcatholicschool
Actually it's a non-religious school, so we had Jewish kids, Catholics, and Christians. We got off on Jewish holidays too :D

Ok, you're good.
But I'm going into a Catholic High School

I want to ask a question because I'm not the smartest with computer specifications: What would be a sufficient amount of Gigahertz for a processor to achieve to be able to run most games these days smoothly without much running in the background?

Also, have fun with Just Cause 2, it's fun as hell.

It depends on the actual processor if its either dual core, quad core or single core.

Single Core: 3.0+ GHz
Dual Core: 2.5+ GHz
Quad Core: 2.2+ GHz

It's pretty much a small step up from my current PSU. Is it really necessary? My PSU already has a 12V rail at 25 Amps.
