Author Topic: Kongregate bought by GameStop  (Read 5029 times)

oh well, Kong is already selling out anyways. Constantly there's some game console game promo up, not to mention the Cheetos promo games.

First Sculptris gets bought out by the guys at Zbrush and turned into another $300+ sculpting program, now  Kongregate sells out to stuffstop.

What next?

The Cheetos games suck.

I just hope Gamestop won't make people pay money to post games on the site.

A site I never go to bought out by a Store I never go to.

From the site:

CHANGE IS SCARY - BUT WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

I have on good authority that we're finally going to lose the "beta" tag. Past that, really not too much. GameStop resources will allow us to improve the site much more quickly, but we're going to stay the same site that you have grown to know and lo- well, tolerate.

Speaking of kongregate, I've been playing this crappy mmorpg far too much.

stuff, now I'm addicted to it. :c

LET'S BE ADDICTED TOGETHER.

It's really stupid how people talk stuff and whine when a company buys out another. It's unlikely any changes will be made. For example, Disney owns Miramax Films and they continue to create movies that aren't really family friendly.

Clerks
Pulp Fiction
Halloween
Kids (Very controversial film that touches alot "sensitive" subjects)
and Kill Bill just to name a few, change isn't always bad. In cases like this you won't even realize it's happened.

But the thought is EA+Developer here.  Where the developer gets barely any recognition.

I'M SO ADDICTED TO ALL THE THINGS YOU DO WHEN YOU ROLL AROUND WITH ME UNDERNEATH THE SHEETS

On a more serious note, what level are you?

I agree all the way, Chase.

No it's not. It's likely that Gamestop will have little presence on the actual site.

That was said on their announcement. They will lose the Beta tag and that's it. It's said Gamestop will just make stuff happen sooner.us
