Hello,
I am Niven's TF2 clan leader. Niven isn't going anywhere and didn't want any sympathy, he wanted to have a get together party to play with all of his friends before his time is cut. And yes, from the time he used to have and the time he will have now, it is a sever cut. Between school, homework, our clan and other games he plays he will not have that much time to actually game with anyone. His parents are asshats. He posted the same post in our forum, it was not a "Goodbye" it was not to gain "sympathy" it was to be an event night; An event night with his friends. Judging by some of the comments I can see that none of you really hold your clan members best interests at heart. That is not how epic clans are made or run.
As a clan leader myself I am appalled that Niven got banned for posting about his event... and yes, it was an EVENT. There are no if's and's or but's about that. It was to be a party EVENT night.
In regards to your Rule Number 5:
5. Do not plea for sympathy
- Do not make posts about how you are leaving the forums. Just leave.
- Do not make posts about how the game isn't fun for you anymore. Just stop playing.
- Do not make posts about how you are going to kill yourself. Just do it.
He was not PLEADING for sympathy, and he didn't post that he would be leaving the forums... HE WAS POSTING THAT HE WOULD NOT BE ON *AS MUCH* AS HE USED TO, and he wanted to have a get together.
He never broke any rules, he doesn't deserve his ban. I can see that this clan isn't run with fairness or kindness in mind. That will be it's downfall. If I am wrong, then prove me wrong. Unban Niven, all of you know he didn't deserve what he got.
Badspot, your community sees the unfairness in this, mistakes like this can turn a clan against their leader and cause them to leave. I am here in support of Niven as he took the ban you gave him really hard and he didn't deserve that, you know that. You must see that this is a misunderstanding. As a leader, I make mistakes... but when I do I am man enough to take responsibility for them and correct the mistakes that I have made. My clan and my leadership look up to me for it and respect me for it.
... respect isn't earned however, disrespect is.
