IMO games portray only about 10% realism, which is usually from facts, statistics, events, and names or things.
Video games can't simulate your real internal feelings if you're friends been shot, stamina if you've ran a mile, or you're morals. There's no real care if you die because you're adrenaline isn't actually pumping, you're not dirty and cold lying on the ground in the rain waiting to ambush people, and you're not fearing the enemy or consequences of your actions.
That only comes from real life war
