Gmod not letting play game

thats not what mine has it shows the start up screen loading but then it turns the game off and said that there is a problem w/ the HL2 source or something along those lines

I dont want to make another topic, but I have a similar problem. Whenever I start up gmod, it loads as normal. Then the blue loading bar has no text and the background is black. I move my mouse around and I can still hear the menu sounds.

For me Gmod is more stable with more source games so conclusion to JTs problem is, buy more source games?

It was working before. I have CSS, and TF2.

Do you have Half-Life 2 preloaded?  It should be.  And did Counter-Strike have an error or anything?  Maybe post your computer's specs.

i never had HL2 there was nothing wrong w/ counter strike

Try restarting steam.  Maybe that will help.
