Author Topic: Scariest game?  (Read 4790 times)

Minecraft.
Well, when I started alpha.
I make tree house first day for a temp stay.
I go up and place torches.
I wait.
Sun comes up and makes a blowing noise. Partial scare because I didn't know what it was.
I go mining and hit mossy cobblestone. Then footsteps.
I run and creeper goes kaboom.
I die.

Have you played the free version or the good, 10$ version of it?
Both.

Think about it..always scared because something is going to sneak up on you...
also fear and doom and quake are not scary.

First of all it highly depends on which level of brightness, which music and what time you play it. I use to play those nasty ones on somewhat dark, putting in a low volume instrumental Power Metal piece. Believe me when I say it will scare you much more, since you can't possibly spot enemies due to low brightness and the music makes you calm... but still you know there are enemies which can crawl up from behind anytime which creates somewhat like terror in your mind.

"Wow he has a differing opinion, well thats not right. Its probably just a ploy to get attention since no one else has different views than I"
Why else would he continuously mention it in a topic where it doesn't belong

Minecraft really isn't scary, but it just makes you paranoid. You're digging in mines, you hear random mob noises, random wind blowing, creepy piano music with loud notes, you just feel that the next rock is the rock that uncovers a skeleton or creeper.

BUT. The scariest game I've played is probably DOOM 3.

It's not the scariest game around, but it's the scariest game I've played.

I hated Doom 3
IMO it's a stuffty game

Mario is a SCARY GAME

kudos to those who get the reference.

this

atmosphere makes the game

Leave it to a little 6-year-old Hispanic girl and a talking monkey in the rainforests of God-knows-where to discover an alien species and their large, purple planet which still refuses to make itself visible in the sky, and at which no astronomer has ever bothered to point his telescope.

When I was young I wanted to forget Dora.

Definatly dead space.

I killed the first Enemy and quit the the game outta fright. you just have to play for a little while to be scared.
