Single Player Downloadable Games

Alrighty, I've got a school laptop here and I need some awesome single-player games that don't require anything to do with internet besides being able to download them.

It can't be through Steam. The laptop had it's Wireless device removed due to security issues (It's a Lenovo ThinkPad T61) and the only way I can at least entertain myself without plugging the goddamn thing into the wall for internet is a single player game.

I could use a storyline right now. Or a RPG style thing.

Keep in mind again, it can only be downloaded. I can move it over on a flash drive or I'll plug the lappy into the wall for internets.

Edit: Not free, but Star Wars: Republic Commando. It's a loving awesome game.
