OH YEA? WELL MY DAD BOUGHT ME AN NEW AMP THIS WEEK AND GOT ME THE MOTOROLLA DROID, AND IS TAKING ME TO E3 NEXT YEAR. HOW IS THAT FOR CHILD ABUSE

Ohmy. :c

The children shouldn't have been screaming, but the mother could have handled that much better. Still, one mustn't through windows. There could be much more to this then we know. Even so, behavior of children is typically a reflection of their parents in one way or another. :s

And I've always wondered which is normally worse, or more damaging, per se: A 'bad' parent, or an absent one. :o

A bad one obviously.

A bad one obviously.
Hm...I guess it all depends at what position your looking at it from. In one way, an absent parent can't directly hurt a child. But in another, at least with a bad parent, one could know they (Often) care enough to stay, even if they aren't top notch. In another way, a bad parent could completely shatter a child. But in another, it all depends on the extremity of how "bad" the parent is. :o

I'm thinking of an abusive child beating parent. An absent parent could be separated from the other parent or busy keeping the family afloat. They could still love their child.

True. It depends on the absence reasons as well. And if the child knows/accepts those reasons. :o

All so overly complicated. We need more Good ol' Italian families. :c

lol great more fat guidos.

Mafia?
O u. No, silly goose. I mean families that are close, that do most everything together, that don't bottle up all their feelings, that don't go behind each others backs.

ancestry does not work that way

Is that even possible? I bottle my feelings up even to my closest people.

Quite. While my family was never as connected as my Mother's (When she was a child), that's what we did, just as my grandparents did and their parents and their parents before that. Many pure Italian families are like that, actually. It's part of the culture. Plus, if we weren't, the country would basically fall apart or be much more chaotic then it is now.

(Separating country from government, of course. We can't organize a government the life of us. Since WWII, Italy has had over 60 different governments. But maybe that's what makes the country work. :o)

A bad one obviously.
I disagree

In terms of behavior, a child that's abused by their parents would probably be more cautious or afraid of getting too close to other people.

Children who don't have a certain parent (mother or father, doesn't matter) won't have that influence they should have. So, for instance, if a great father was married to a horrible mother, but the father passed away when the child was young, I'd think the kid would be more influenced by the way the mother acts

I've been without a dad for years now, and he was always very much into sports, short hair, and the whole jock style. Since I've only been raised by my mother, I'm more into everything my dad isn't. Maybe if he were around, I'd be more active or into sports. You never know, though.

-snip-

I haven't seen my dad since I was in kindergarten, but I like sports.

Then again, my mom likes sports. She was the one who got me into baseball and football.
