I've heard of different people having different responses to having an abusive parent

Some 'isolate' themselves from others, some turn into what their parents have shown them, some have just come out with 'more sense' to them

I think it all really just depends on the person

Every time I see someone yell at their kids I say something along the lines of "If I see you loving hit that kid again I'll call child services. forget you." Not even kidding. I hate seeing kids get hit, they don't know any better.

Exactly what I was thinking. When I was little I was yelled at or slapped for being bad, and it worked. Sitting your kid down and having a rational discussion isnt going to do anything
