Author Topic: My middle school says you can't insult someone over facebook.  (Read 4330 times)

What i mean is, like when you are home after/before school, and yo insult a kid over the internet, can the school really punish you?
They can if they want.

You have complete control on your own property so if the school tries this blasphemy over something you did AT YOUR OWN HOME then you should have a reason to revolt
cyberbullying will always be there and you cant stop it
if someone commits Self Delete over being trolled then they never deserved to live
This is what i wanted to read

then dont insult them

if you want to rage at someone, rage at them in real life  :cookieMonster:

Your basically a piece of the school walking around.  Your representing them.

yes they can.

it is actually illegal to harass people on the net. there just is no way to enforce it.

but schools can get the law involved if they want.
and they do have that right, even a public school dont have to allow you to stay around they dont want.

CONSEQUENCES WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!

You and a friend pretend to insult each other over fb, have the school call in your parents, go all .

You are all quite wrong.

A few states have passed laws that make them able to do this.

Facebook is in almost no way related to school so, therefore, I don't think you can get punished for insulting someone unless you insult a teacher or staff member over it.

Then again, I don't even have a Facebook. This doesn't apply to me.

Facebook is evil.  I regret putting my face and a profile on their.  I would like to destroy such a place.

LOL! I do this all the time to my friend.

That's just wrong.
Considering the internet itself is a creation maintained by private companies, and no data transmitted over it can physically harm anyone, there is no need to enforce anything on the internet.

Tom

Is your school one of those stupid schools that claim they can see everyone's facebook profile?
