I got 500 reloads on the google bomber thing, I have done my part.

Hey guys, Al Gore didn't invent the Internet. Yeah, he had a big part in it, but he alone did not invent it.
We were joking, durrrr.

I got 500 reloads on the google bomber thing, I have done my part.

I just closed it a minute ago with a grand total of 1048 reloads.

I'll do more tomorrow from school, where they have fiber optic Internet and an inexistent bandwidth limitation.

You did click the link I posted, right?
And read a sentence because I'm a wee bit tired.

Mkay, then I'll copy and paste a line or two.

The Internet was originally developed by DARPA - the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency - as a means to share information on defense research between involved universities and defense research facilities.

Al Gore really did have a substantial part in the US legal framework and governmental issues related to the Internet; he never said he invented it.

I got this idea from thepiratebay, dunno if it's been posted already but whatever. You could get wifi from the public library and pirate stuff there, what would they do then?

Pirate some hijacking software!

Does this really count as discussing piracy? :u

Most of the whining about this is just about being able to look at your stuff.  It doesn't mean that the government will look at what sites you visit, but it means that they can look at what sites you visit.  My understanding is that it's like someone going into your home and looking at your history because they got a tip that you had child research.  To my understanding, it's basically "if you're doing stupid stuff, the government can watch and promptly arrest you."  What else does this do?  Is it just that the government could possibly look at your history/chatlogs/whatever?
You seem to forget the fact that if they suspect you of illegal activities, even if you really aren't, they will confiscate and search through your personal files by literally taking any electronic equipment.

Downloading mp4s from YouTube? Won't happen with ACTA.
Burned a new mix CD for a friend? Won't happen if the songs were downloaded through YouTube or Limewire.

ACTA will severely restrict internet privacy.

This ultimately bothers me.

While your in your car with a laptop that's under the seats that you control with buttons on the steering wheel and a display that comes up on the dashboard when you type in a secret password?

Every single public place is not going to be getting high definition video of every single car all the time.
