You should reformat. Mostly it's an aimed laptop virus. Or it could itself be a virus that disables your keyboard.

Blagh, might as well order a new keyboard now

My new keyboard came in the mail today and I am proudly typing on it to make this post.

Success!

Now I just need to buy a new mouse considering that's likely the cause of my double-click/un-click problem.

Virus. There is a virus that does that, and, in my case, it can also turn on your computer randomly in the middle of the night to waste your money.
Turn off power supply.
