In her defence, some people, such as my great uncle (now passed away), have no choice but to drown puppies because they can't find people to take care of them, and he can't afford them. So he drowned them in a bucket.

However, throwing puppies into a river is over the top and should not be done like this. That's a public area, whilst drowning them in a bucket for a good reason in a private area is socially acceptable.

The alternative is letting them go free.
This is bad.
domestic pets have no place in nature. They were misbred for many many years to be cute and loyal. Even if they do survive they carry sicknesses. ANd they eat local flora or real wild animals, totaly loving up nature as you think you know it.

If a household don't have the means to take care of an animal, the animal SHOULD be killed.

You can't go all rooster sucking bleeding heart hippie everytime a living thing suffers.
In this case its considered a mercy killing.

And if yo want more humane ways to do it, then shell out the cash needed, because feelings cost money out of someones pocket.

This was clearly NOT a mercy killing. If it was to spare them a life of misery without owners, they wouldn't have just tossed them in a river. And filmed it. And clearly enjoyed it.

For the record. I have tossed a total of 6 street cats that loiter near my dumpsters.
Everyone of them I called the number on the tag, found out they weren't even concidered missing and they "will be home soon to eat"
I dumpstered them all.
