The Mayan calendar, in all actuality, doesn't end on that date. Granted, it does draw some closing and marks astrological events, but it is actually the beginning of a new cycle. The calendar resets itself, and it doesn't "end" until it does that 5 or 6 times, if memory serves. This would be the first reset. :o

Actually this happens every 394 years.

So the last time this happened in 1616, we were too busy worrying if we were going to fall of the earth if we sailed too far west and there wasn't enough handicapped media for this matter.

One of the cycles happens after that many years, yes. And one of the cycles happens for 1,000 or so. One of the cycles happens 5,000 or so. The other incorporates the 5,000 5 or 6 times, and another organizes things apparently. They have many on that calendar, it's probably why people get so confused.  :o

And I thought you did fall off the Earth if you sailed west! Is that silly Columbus spreading rumors again?
