Author Topic: Ragdoll for blockland possibly  (Read 8720 times)

Create a new death animation to imitate a ragdoll is possible.
Imitate sure, but we can't get real ragdoll physics. I guess that might work could work.

Hmmm i might as well do that since this thread is on its way on a backfire.

implying you know how to do anything
k.

Why is everyone here saying

"We can't have ragdoll because its Torque!"

It wouldn't work regardless, we are loving blockheads, we would just fall apart when we die, thats not really ragdoll, thats just falling apart

Hey guys I have an idea lets convince Badspot to somehow buy a multi-thousand dollar engine and have himself code Blockland from the ground up all over again without the nice flexibility and simplicity of Torque, sacrificing our basic easy gameplay and game engine just for supar kool grafix and physics! Not to mention the fact that most users of Blockland wouldn't even be able to run it because most of them have stuffty computers!

because that is why we can't have them.
are you stupid or what.

by your logic we shouldn't be capable of locomotion at all
hell, we're just plastic, what the forget.
in case you haven't noticed yet blockland isn't real, we have no arms or legs and most of our appendages float a meter or two from where they seem to be anchored, we can create matter spontaneously and our FEET SHOOT loving FIRE TO MAKE US FLY

realism's already hung itself by this point, logic's crying on his deathbed

You have beaten me.

Ragdoll physics are possibly the most annoying thing to have to try and program for. I seriously doubt we are getting them.

The most logical thought is that the plastic parts are held together by the will of the bloko inhabiting them, and when said bloko is terminated, locomotion and the parts bindings to one another would also be terminated.

I mean it's not very logical at all compared to reality but it makes a sort of marginal amount of sense. Respawning could be described as the bloko's will accumulating enough plastic to recreate its desired body parts... hooray, magic! (and wrenches!)

So the realistic would hopefully be somewhat like Modern wa

If CoD: Modern Warfare  is realistic then I'm Overlord of the Universe.

Create a new death animation to imitate a ragdoll is possible.
Possibly multiple animations?
