Sorry, but yeah, look at the front page, there's a "Major price drop" sign on one of the websites for a reason. 100-200 mW will be a good starter burnner for anyone who hasn't had a laser before. On wicked lasers, they sell 100 mW for $50, and 200 mW for about $70.

I really want a laser, but if I asked my dad if he could buy it online, and I gave him cash, he would say no. I can't really convince him that they are safe either because apparently they can make you blind.

Obviously if you're irresponsible with one. Than yeah. Just save up enough for a couple of saftey goggles, and promise him that you will never use it in public, and when you do use it, you will always wear the goggles.
