Originally,you had to pre order.but then bungie forgeted up and gave it out for free pre ordered or not.The helmet looks godawful now anyways.The black thing sticking out of your cranium makes it look awful.The little communications thing on the side was cool though.Reminds me of MMZ.
Now I hate myself for pre ordering.Plus,My game came a week late because of amazons cheap ass shipping.
Pre Ordering was therefore useless.
