Its not like dogs can become scientists or doctors or motherloving soldiers.

I think just harming innocent animals is bad, we do need to kill them for food, but just harming them for fun is wrong

i never put humans above animals.

just as animals are a tool for us to live our lives.

we belong in the same food/use chain. just because we have the means to not be killed in the wild so easily, dont mean the laws of nature arent applying to us.

let them evolve so that they are higher up. till then they are our bidding.
Yeah, sure, let's just wait around until all other animals get a RANDOM SUCCESSFULL MUTATION that just HAPPENS to be EXACTLY like the one humans got which will take MILLIONS of years if it's even possible. (It isn't!)

the only thing that makes us different from animals is that we can acknowledge we are feeling things.
That's just the part that makes us want to stay alive. You forgot the other parts that makes us think things like "that bear is probably still behind that rock even if I can't smell or hear it, because it has to be", and "I can probably use this stick tomorrow to pick down fruit from the trees as well" (while a money just throws the stick away), and many many other things.

humans also have opposable thumbs and the ability to hold and use a weapon
Unlike other animals such as apes...?

but humans can eventually invent a process or machine to do so.
and we evolve into sea creatures because all of the earth dissolves

but humans can eventually invent a process or machine to do so.
and we evolve into sea creatures because all of the earth dissolves
Could you please rephrase that using realism?

Humans are superior to other animals on this planet. Simply because of brains. In no way does a chimp come close to a humans intellect. In no way does a bird eating nectar from flowers come close to a humans broad precision. In no way does any animal on the face of this earth come close to a humans capabilities. And they will never come close. Other animals and insects alike can serve one purpose on this planet, and that is to feed humans. We are superior. We are smarter. We are cunning. We are Human. We need to use our carefully crafted tools of creation given to us by thousands of years of evolution and go where no being has gone. Do what no sentient creature has done. Explore the stars, colonize these chunks of rock and minerals scattered throughout, design machines like no other. Kicking a dead bird on the sidewalk? Who cares.
That bird was a precise construction of elements and compounds, carefully working in tune with one another to keep said bird "alive", much like the machines we create. It is worthless if it can't run.

Animals shouldn't be hurt for some sick youngster finds it funny to hurt/kill them.

They killed some storks around here by cutting of their heads.
And these storks were parents of some small storks.

forget them.
forget them very much.

You know, I could correct you in so many ways, but for now I'll content myself with explaining what a human is to bisjac.

How come humans can't kill inferior animals but if say a lion tears apart a gazelle while its still alive its all cool

I don't think we should torture animals though however kicking a dead bird is not near any form of torture

Obviously he's angry about him kicking the body, not for dodging it.
If a bird attacked me and crashed into the pavement I'd kick it too.

It's a loving bird, calm down.

Thats a nice prediction of animals never evolving to be sentient with human help or otherwise prediction you got there.
edit: I mean, its not like we were all animals with nutsized brains once, no we just magically poofed into humans!

don't start topics like these because it'll bring people who don't give a stuff about animals and there'll be a bigass controversy about animals having feelings

anyway, my take on animals and feelings
yeah, i know, im kind of straying away from cruelty but i talked to someone about this before and im just gonna say it
because i know someones going to bring up the idea that animals have no feelings or thoughts

obviously animals have feelings
but it depends on the animal
what is probably the most basic emotion/instinct is fear
insects probably have a very simple form of this, as they will flee from large objects.
Except those really loving annoying giant-ass flies that won't go away if you threaten to smash it.
Which I wouldn't want to do because it'd be loving gross.
Anyway, animals with a level of intelligence around cats and dogs probably have more human-like emotions such as anger, compassion, loyalty, and curiosity
The existence of emotions in animals depend on whether or not they need those emotions to survive.
Animals that live in packs or can live socially like cats and dogs (cats actually do form 'clans' sometimes. theyre not always solitary. this is seen in feral cat colonies.)
dogs obviously have a strong dependence on living together, with a strong pack mentality.
often emotions are essential for survival.
anger - in nature this is used as a last resort when backed away into somewhere you cannot flee from
or anger could be used when faced with a difficulty or an annoyance among societies, creating discipline. not sure if im talking stuff at this point or not.
sadness - negative reinforcement. you probably will try and prevent something from happening if it caused you sadness before.
happiness - positive reinforcement.
grief - sadness, negative reinforcement, your brain telling you that you should not let your peers die.
yes, even cats feel grief. if you ask Mr. Lol he'll give you a great example.
fear - prevents you from doing things that instinct(over years instinct has evolved to view things that are often dangerous to be dangerous, as those without this instinct died and didn't continue their genetic code to their less useful brain structure)/common sense tells you are dangerous.
meh im bored
imma leave this thread it sounds dangerous and if i even read anything (i didn't) from this topic it'd either piss me off, make me a bit too involved, or make me depressed
bye
