Author Topic: I am going to rant about drivers now (of the car variety) (and you can too!)  (Read 2179 times)

oh my god i could never be a driver
anger problems sometimes
if some guy gave me the finger for doing nothing i'd totally ram him off the road and get arrested.
hopefully this anger is temporary.

Stop being a slow ass, I drive 5-10 mile above the speed limit all the time. I've got places to go, people to see, fires to put out so speed up already. You know why police put out the speed strip? To average out how fast people drive on that road and then adjust the speed limit accordingly. The highway where I use to live went from 45 mph to 60 in a year, so don't think you're doing anyone favors by driving the speed limit. Also get a bumpersticker of a slowpoke  :cookieMonster:

I always go at least 5mph over in zones where the limit is 40mph+, and keep with traffic on highways. In residential zones though I go the speed limit and get quite pissed when roostery highschoolers start tailgating me for it, and slow down 10-15mph below the limit and keep them from passing. Irresponsible, but don't like the idea of a 5 year old getting smacked because a kid had to show off in front of his girlfriend. Tailgating is really the only thing that pisses me off, and have gotten into stuff with because I frequently flip people off for doing it and actively try to piss them off.

It's only young people that are a problem where I live.

And old people.

And most women. (my mother is an exceptionally brilliant driver, and a terrible cook, so forget you.)

I've got places to go, people to see, fires to put out so speed up already.

Then leave earlier.

I don't fully understand why people are always in such a hurry. I enjoy times when I'm in a car (though rare) and there is a red light, or there is a long line for the toll booth, or what ever the case may be. It just gives you time to think and slow down for a moment; it gives a chance to relax.

Certainly being behind a wheel can be stressful, so even the slightest thing may set you off, but that is why it is good to savor those moments. So every moment you drive isn't stricken with "HE CUT ME OFF WJHNEHMNJKAJIKT".

Oh good gravy yes. This.

Yes waiting is so enlightening.

Physically moving foward, backwards, or remaing still matters not; What matters is what you do with it.

Well according to traffic laws moving forward is the only direction you should be going. You want to take your time? Walk it, or ride a bike. I don't care.

I don't think traffic laws say that you should drive through a red light or plow through cars at a toll booth. :I

I don't think that's even close to what I said either.

Driving is best when the loctation of your destination is far away, and would take too long to walk. I usually think that people take it for granted and want to go as fast as they can, sometimes if they make it they are too early, but most of the time they end up in the hospital.

This conversation got lost in translation. :c

I was stating before that those times we must wait, they are good. It gives one time to relax. And, personally, I like this quite times. It acts as meditation. As for speeding, there is rarely a good reason for it. I wasn't saying people should drive at a slow pace, but one should be decent about such. Most people aren't going to put out a fire.

I find driving on long routes that wind through the coast and near mountains with minimal traffic to be very calming. Then when you throw in some easy listening tunes it makes it that much better, especially if your friend is there to enjoy the experience with you.
