Mikiykiy, it's worthless to try to explain that to him

Well it looks like it shut him up for now nonetheless.

Did this friend really join the forums just to advertise this stuff?
shut up, transvestite

Looks good, I guess.
But the blood graphics and the dying animations are horrible.

to sum everyones opinion, its stuff.

"....counteract each problem with some useless banter that will not support your cause...to think of useless replies."

I'm only going to reply to some of your post...

PROBLEM 1: IT'S NOT LEGO

Those are not lego studs.
Some Lego blocks have identical studs to that... e.g. technic blocks... I like the look of them better than normal studs.

Quote
They are circles, circles for bottom studs and top studs. How do circles with the exact same radius in the exact same positions parallel to each other interlock?
I prefered having a ceiling that looks like the floor. Maybe I will look into changing it again...

Quote
...If you're going to destroy the name Lego, at least have the proper courtesy to copy/paste the logo from Google images.
If I did that people might think that it is an official Lego game. But it's not.

Quote
...Is that a knife? It looks like a metal stick...
It has a handle, blade and a hand-guard. The blade has a curved part which you can see in the orbiting view.

Quote
...The Knife takes too long to kill
Try playing the original game... it takes about the same amount of stabs to kill people.

Quote
plus it stuns the enemy. That doesn't even give them a chance to fight back....
Try playing the original game using the knife... the enemy doesn't fight back either (except for bosses, etc)

Quote
...The Luger fires too fast, see above...
You're right! I had the refire rate at 0.2 seconds for some reason but it should be 0.4 seconds.

Quote
...The Rocket launcher looks like a vibrating carrot for fat chicks. Try making it a bit smaller so we can see where the rocket reloads. Oh I'm sorry, that's a minigun. What does this say?
Well I was thinking of changing it...

PROBLEM 6: THOSE SOUNDS ARE NOT A HOMAGE, GET YOUR OWN loving SOUNDS....
What does that mean? Where am I supposed to get all of the sounds from?

Quote
...If you take a look at any properly made Lego game, there is no blood, no gore, just dead mini figures. Your game is the complete opposite of that aspect. Enemies lose a gallon of blood from a single knife stab, and then explode into a gory mess of blood and guts...
Half of the point is it being an *original* Lego game... i.e. I don't have to copy the basic idea of official Lego games. Also remember it is Wolf3D... it is gory. And though you can't dismember everyone in Wolf3D you can in games like Lego Star Wars - C3PO at least.

Quote
...PROBLEM 8: THIS IS NOT SONIC THE HEDGEHOG'S TIME TRAVEL TO national socialist GERMANY

Seriously slow down the player. He's zipping across rooms....
I think it is about the same as Wolf3D's running speed. And it isn't a realistic game you know.

Quote
...PROBLEM 9: YOU CALL THOSE TREES?

They look hideous and are everywhere. This does not help your game at all...
1. The models are identical to lego trees that are sitting on a cylinder block
2. They are only found where they were put in the original game

Quote
PROBLEM 10: YOU CALL THAT Riddler?

Seriously it looks like a gasping Lego man. Add a mouth.
Well I made a "photo" and a painting using that face as well... I might redo his face...

Quote
....Even the walls look like stickers when they are the most obvious thing to be made out of legos.
Some of them use normal mapping though so they have different shadows depending on where the light is coming from. Also in the game the Lego is 6 bricks wide and a few bricks high. If I made the walls out of Lego it would be very low resolution... unless you're suggesting I mix different scales of Lego. BTW in Lego games many of the wall textures are realistic looking rather than every single item in the game look like Lego...

...
PROBLEM 13: DIEING WITH A SMILE

Sure, stab the guards. Why are they smiling? I'd be smiling too if I got knifed into oblivion. I wouldn't have to spend any more time in this third rate 5th grade computer programming class assignment....
They have a hurt face for a fraction of a second... and when they're dead they have an unhappy face with X's for eyes.

Quote
PROBLEM 14: AMMO PACKS HUH?

What are those blue blocks around the rocket launcher- I mean mini gun? Those are ammo? You're not even going to make a model for them?
The block is the model... What about in Lego games when they pick up colored circular studs... that is just a brick as well... anyway you said that the walls were meant to be made out of Lego... why can't the ammo? Also the size of the ammo is very small - there is a limit to how complex it can be.

....Your has national socialist flags littered everywhere. The original Wolf 3D did it tastefully, and implied that it was a national socialist base of sorts. But your has a national socialist flag or a Riddler paining every other step. This literally screams HURRRRR DURRRRR WE H8 TEH JOOS!
In the game the national socialist flags and Riddler paintings are only where they are in the original game... except that in the original game one of the flag sprites has the flag curled around itself... in the Lego version the flag isn't curved.

Two people? Seriously now? Take a better look at this thread.
Sure most people on this thread hate it, but they didn't explicitly tell me to scrap the game.

If you ever plan to make any sort of money, I highly recommend you redirect your talents and make a game that could bring in revenue. You've definitely got competence and a decent skillset, but this "game" is not a productive application or a reasonable use of time.

PROBLEM 12: AGAIN WITH THE LIGHTING

Look at it. It's too bright on one end and too dark on the other. There is no in between at all.
I like making it bright and shiny... and there is enough darkness for shadows to show...
BTW what do you think about Doom 3 then? It had some pure black areas... in my game there is no pitch black areas... every level has ambient lighting. Also if you go near something it helps light up the surroundings (like in the original Doom).
You might say that Doom 3 is ok because you can use your flashlight... well my game has a flashlight too (use the "F" key).

I'm planning on polishing up the game (but I won't be redoing the animations - mine are more like real Lego minifigures where there is no bending of the Lego). BTW lots of people make mods that they can never make money from... then they sometimes go on to getting paid work. I'm still thinking about ideas for a sellable game... it may be controversial like LegoWolf3D is in terms of gore. I'd probably make the minifigures a bit different to Lego ones but their still might stay yellow... I've got to explore different engines. I'm currently using one that allows pretty small filesizes but it usually requires the user to download DirectX updates and possibly OpenGL drivers for their video card. I might use UDK or possibly Unity...
BTW here's a remake of a Sonic game that is really impressive though they can't make any money off of it (I think)...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHKD14XfOe8

Heh, Wolfenstien is where the idea of Voxelstien came from. It is a loving fun game.

When you knife someone, it looks like you are raping them with a carrot

Isn't Lego going to rape you with permission to use that stuff in the game.

Minifig is copyright
Lego logo is copyright
Studs are copyright
Almost everything in there is copyright.

Wolfenstein 3-D was the first first person shooter and it was released in 1992.
No it wasn't.

for the uninitiated: play this! how do voxels work aaaaaa
