Author Topic: How Science Saved my Soul - I Almost Cried  (Read 6806 times)

It's easier to have blind faith in a God rather than have a rational thought process and accept the universe for what it is. Religion is a mere manmade tool made thousands of years ago to keep man from chaos. I think we are civilized enough by now to do well without it.

Dammit, STOP RICK-ROLLING ME!

As hard as it is to beleive, I'm christian. Im just saying that becuase everyone is now just saying that becuase now everyone is like saying their christian or athiest.
Agreed, I started to watch it, and didnt get throughthe first minute of it.

If you notice, their is a Galaxy called "Halo"...

You're handicapped

Sad thing is most religious people would watch this for a few seconds and immediately turn it away thinking "bullstuff".
I watched the full thing, unlike most religious people i believe science.

I can't really watch it right now, can someone sum it up?

Not really. It's about the universe in all of its splendor.

Okay, i'm watching without sound though because my brother would probably be like "uuu wtf that hippy crap"

That wont work.

The video is basically:
I wanted to smoke a ciggarrete so I went outside
I saw the milky way and was like WOAH.
Its not a religious experience as the church would like you to believe
Based on facts and stats, it isn't religious.
More mockery of religion

And add in a lot of boring to the whole mix.

That wont work.

Hey,
Why don't you go eat a loving richard since your skull is obviously too thick to comprehend any of it.

"Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post." wut?

Not really. It's about the universe in all of its splendor.

Basically, at the beginning he shows how big our galaxy is. He gives simple facts, such as a lightyear is 6 million miles, our solar system has 250 billion stars, etc. Then he asks why people of religion contradict themselves as to why they teach God made the universe and then ignore it (the universe). He states that if there was indeed a God, he would want us to understand the universe and be more knowledgable about it, yet the very essence of religion is against that.

The rest is a ton of stuff that is too powerful for me to summarize.

Hey,
Why don't you go eat a loving richard since your skull is obviously too thick to comprehend any of it.
lol.  That would be cannibalism and purely immoral, I would never do something like that.  You on the other hand seemingly have no moral standards.

And it isn't exactly a complex video, but have fun trying to understand a video in the style of documentary and commentary without audio.

Okay, i'm watching without sound though because my brother would probably be like "uuu wtf that hippy crap"
You can't some up how amazing this video really is.

And everybody, stop bringing up religion. Ignore the religious bashing in the video. That's not the biggest point he's trying to make.

Dude, forget off with your pretentious attitude, nobody cares. I doubt you even know what this video is really about lol. Get off your high horse and take 15 minutes of your life to actually comprehend what this man is saying.

The awesome man with the British-accent in the video also said that people of religion are taught to be closed minded and ignore the universe and other thoughts that don't necessarily agree with their own. Are you a close minded person?

lol chill out Ill.  I have no pretentious attitude, Tingalz is just being an starfish.  I did watch the video, and I guess not too many people contemplate those sorts of things often, but I do, so it was a boring video for me personally.

God damn half of you BL forum-ers need to smoke some heavy stuff.
