Author Topic: Doubletoast Merging - For people who don't know how to use the "edit" button!  (Read 1170 times)

I suggest a prevention against double/triple/quadruple+ posting, post merging. The new, second post would be merged with the post above it, and a line break would be made in between the two. Example:

Quote
This is a
Quote
doubletoast. :)

Would become

Quote
This is a

doubletoast. :)

Is there any way you might be able to do this?

Bypasses no post editing, sorta. Causes other problems with post definition.

You won't be able to edit the previous post you made. They will be merged once you post.

Well sh!t. I was thinking like when you post it checks if the last post was made by you, and will edit that post accordingly.

Bumping. Hopefully it's not too old. I was gonna bump it a while ago but got caught up in Minecraft. C:

First Post

Double Roast

Triple Toast

Quadruple Boast

What about the case where people have the first post reserved because of Clan topics and whatnot, incase of the 20,000 character limit?

I also say no, because of Bumping purposes.

Maybe it'll only merge when the topic is on the front page, or any other page that's "Bumping distance."

Dunno about that. Hrm.

Perhaps it could be a voluntary action, and you can't do it in drama or help where editing is locked.
But none of this will ever happen because as far as I know the last significant change to the forum software was the adding of the RTB mods child board, back in early '09.

No.
Bad example of feedback.

Ouch. I guess something like this isn't gonna happen then.

This thread is for ADDON suggestions, is it not?

Doesn't say any specific type of ideas, no? And where'd you get the notion that it was for addons only?

Because most of the time that's what's posted.
Shouldn't this go to offtopic, or maybe like, General discussion or something
