Author Topic: US Army declares Athiests "spiritually unfit" to serve  (Read 3759 times)

This doesn't make me too angry seeing as I'm too much of a doughy baby to join the military anyway :d

i could be reading this wrong, but it seems to be that they want their soldiers to have a sense of meaning and purpose, not god

although, the last paragraph where it explains that the spiritual training thing is run by a crazy-christian chaplain is a little scary

Lol America's still considered free market.

somebody please just nuke this terrible country already

but i wanted his timeshare in boca raton

I consider Religon to be somewhat of a good luck charm

People believe what they choose to believe. The government can be asses sometimes.

This is not surprising. >_>
Im Christian but I dont loving care who is serving as the military. Its their job to protect us, not their job to worry about what religion they believe in.

It makes a little sense to me though because the US was founded on religous bases and principles.

/agree

They can run the military from a religously neutral point of view, it's just when the people in the military start judging and insulting others based on religon. It hinders performance. Sure, they should still be allowed to pray and whatnot. Why not pray? It's just an extra penny in the fountain

Lots of parts of america were founded with religious freedom. Why is this not applied to the military? We have people of lots of religions, so what's the difference with atheism? This law is stupid, God didn't want us killing eachother every three seconds at all, so why should people who believe in him only be able to fight? If you're atheist, you can fight  without fear of going to hell.

Yet back then those who didn't go to church could either be exiled or hanged

Oh really?I guess im one of those puppets then,eh?
yeah, pretty much
