Enjoy roleplaying? Try Highler Ridge, a dangerous roleplay of cops-n-robbers!
ABOUT Broken World is a roleplaying community project based in a shattered world, in the remains of nuclear warfare. In the undocumented past, there was a war that changed the world, but the name, like the rest of the world's past, is not known. The remains of some structures still stand, offering mild protection from the harshness of the lands scattered and dotted with radiation, odd creatures unlike anything ever seen by human eyes before, rusted metal, and other devastating damages. Only a handful of lives somehow have survived the toxic world, some with diseases, some perfectly well. It's the luck of the draw. However, they all seem to be in the same general area. Perhaps this area was spared a direct hit of the nuclear warheads, or perhaps these people were just lucky and somehow got their lives saved by debris. They do not know, nor will they ever...
The government has fallen into a deep state of depression... well, what's left of it. It's turned into a free-for-all, and the country lacks any true authority. They've bargained the skilled people left into working for them, programming and creating small computer-like objects that have been given to any of the survivors they have found. These electronics have been programmed to let the owners know of any important messages sent out by the government. These objects are sending out messages to the receivers frequently and the information they tell is vital; it would be very unwise to damage or discard one. These electronics are simply called [E]Boards.
Your [E]Board does not take up an inventory slot.
RULES These are the simple rules of the roleplay, though these are not limited in the thread. These rules should be followed in the thread at all times though exceptions can be made as needed. Additions will be added and changes will be made as a purpose for them arises.
- Be realistic. You don't start with an AK47 and you don't shoot everything you come across with super accuracy. Be reasonable and do things that make sense.
- Don't hog the show - don't make post after post of solely your actions, let other players have their own turns and let them decide when to come in.
- Controlling of other players is okay, but don't put them in stupid situations, ie they can't suddenly find themselves surrounded by blood-thirsty killers or inside a volcano.
- Remember you're in a city - there are many things around you and many structures still stand. Keep in mind anything can be anywhere as long as it's realistic.
STARTING To begin, fill out that following template and post it. Note than you can be weaponless or not have any items if you feel that would be a cool thing for you to contribute. Keep a backstory for your character as well, you can't suddenly have a rocket launcher or anything. This pertains to the realistic rule. Anyways, template;

Gained:
Lost:

[OPTIONAL] Backstory:
Your name is obviously your name. In the roleplay, you will be addressed by your name. It can not be changed but you can develop a nickname as time goes on. Your status is basically your current health condition; are you normal? hungry? injured? unconscious? The decision is yours. Your location is an optional addition; if you don't know where you are, you can leave it empty or fill it with hyphens. Your items are limited by your backpack or other objects for carrying things. You can upgrade your backpack as you find a better one in the city. As standard, you can carry four items. Your ammunition for your guns is collective, but counts as an item. For example, if you have 44 shotgun shells, it's one item and takes up one space, just like it would be if you have 381 shells. Remember to keep updating your item count. The gained area is to state what you gained in that post, and the opposite for Lost. If you eat food, it's considered lost. If you're feeling peachy, you can give your character a background. Once this is posted, post this status bar (note that the font size is 7pt);
Name: NameHere // Status: Hungry // Location: Location // Inventory: Item1 (#); Item2 (#); Item3 (#); Item4 (#) // Wearing: Clothing // Gained: ItemGained // Lost: ItemLostAll items are stackable into one slot; don't forget that. If you have a banana, it takes up one slot, just like 20 bananas would.
FINALLY Let's get started!
Remember to keep your status bar updated! Also, for those of you who are curious, I will not actively participate in the roleplay; I will be the one who manages the governments actions, the weather, your electronic [E]Board messages and other things directly effecting the roleplay. That's all I have to say; have fun!
