I think Youtube is enough.

Also, why did I black out things on the first image? Because I wanted to.

Considering there are currently 20,672 keys sold, (20,672 x $20.00) that means badspot would have made $413,440 - 500,000 so far. Consider torque takes quite a bit of that, right now he could have 80,000 - 380,000 off of it. A commercial on a children's network, or G4TV would cost quite a bit. If he would advertise locally, only a couple interested people would see, $80 - 6000 bucks in cash, and it would take about 8000 or so to advertise. Like the post above, he's already advertising.

Consider torque takes quite a bit of that,
Torque takes none of it, Why would they?

the video made by eksi - blockland that game where you build stuff is really good for a TV ad :D

EDIT: i can't see any advert from blockland because i am from Brazil and nobody knows this game in my country, except me obvious...

badspot (or the advert creator, i really dont know exatcly about this) can make an advert for another countries too, it gonna be a hit! With different languages

I'm all for advertising the game. It'd be nice to have an influx of new players to the game.
Just because you guys want to have a game in which you can hermit, doesn't really mean we shoulod try and keep people away.

Besides, it would most likely not attract a large enough crowd, if it were on TV. The only way it would possibly attract a large crowd, if it was on prime-time TV, which would cost a lot.
This is why you don't see Indie game creators advertising on TV. It costs a fair amount, and if you don't get your money back, it was pointless.
Which is why producers of console games, or widely known games, like WorldOfWarcraft get advertised on TV.

And then when you have games like Runescape, which has a lot of players, they probably get popular, primarily through word of mouth.
It would have to be through gossiping and GoogleAd's that you'd ever advertise a game like this.
Especially since Blockland is run by a single person, and doesn't have a company or a team backing it, like Runescape for example, or even Minecraft with Mojang (Which will no doubt, start advertising once they get a couple of games set up and working)

Minecraft doesn't need to advertise. It already has nearly 3.3 million people, and that's just in alpha i think. Speaking of which, find 1 page on the Games section without minecraft on it.

Torque takes none of it, Why would they?

Torque Engine isn't free, you know.

I still don't get how so many people heard of it and liked he game that fast - maybe I need to check it out.

Torque game engine is a one time only payment.

I hope that it never happens.

The last thing that BL needs is to end up like Maxis or other small-time companies that turned to crap after selling out.  Yeah, they made a lot more money, but their products were just games that looked shiney on the outside but had qualitative shortcomings and no lasting appeal.

But this is just my input.  Badspot may have other priorities in mind.

Ahem.

In all language sure :D
