Author Topic: Good compy gaming specs?  (Read 1991 times)

I have no idea what you guys are talking about tbh.
I mainly want a computer for black ops

I personally have had good experience with the 1gb version of the 9800GT, and you can run Black Ops well with it. But I think TicTac knows more about this stuff, but whatever.

How much are you willing to spend?
1500, but I want a great graphics card

-ignore this post, look at my new build a few posts down-

That is way too extreme if you just want to play those games.

CPU and mobo

Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT (You can play Black ops and source games maxed out.)

RAM

HDD

Windows 7 home premium

This computer case has room for upgrade in the future.

And that is a budget gaming PC, that will still do well in todays world. Unless you have 1,000 + dollars to spend, get these parts.

I'll add more later. 500 PSU is good for the ones I selected, and a 500 GB hard drive is more than you can use up, and if you do for some mystical reason, buy another one.

In case you are not sure, here is Black Ops with the 9800 Gt, maxed out.

The HDD you chose is ewwy

His budget is $1,500.

Ew 570.

Get the 6970, it's 5% better on average and scales better in Crossfire than the 570 would in SLI.

It also consumes less power.

I changed it to the 6970, but my wishlist isn't working correctly.

Sizzle, I actually get the feeling you do not know how to build a computer :/

I would agree as well. You wouldn't want to spend more than $1000 if this is your first time. Judging by your responses, I personally would advise you to not build one.
Although it is not hard, screwing up would present a large penalty.

And Black Ops is not a demanding game. You could run that easily on an $800 computer.  Again, I wouldn't advise you to do that. Although this statement is somewhat broad, if you need to ask someone for a list of compatible parts, you shouldn't be building computers.

Also, the i7 tictac posted would be silly if you intend to game. For $200 you can get the i5-2400. They boast the same performance. I wouldn't recommend 4gb nowadays considering how cheap 8gb is. 4gb is becoming mainstream now too.

And not to be mean, Jorici, but if you honestly don't know what you're talking about don't recommend anything...

There you go. You can use the rest of the money for whatever you want, be it another graphics card, solid state drive or even both.

For some reason you can't add combo deals to a wishlist, so here it is.

I have something more extreme.
:D

Anyway, this is just me, but buy that and you wont have to upgrade when everyone else does.
Plus you can play APB.

APB is terrible, which is why it died 1 week after its release.

Do you just come into random threads just to talk about APB?
