At school we actually found the cause of "banned games in Australia", the FPS element. Literally that is it. You can have a game that devourers people with cannibalism and ripping off limbs but if its in First Person then it's likely to get banned. But its also practice like Yuki said where if children are essentially on your side/team and you have no way of killing them then its alright.
It's hilarious because the most immersive view in games is typically third-person. I mean, cinematic elements like in Crysis or Amnesia can make for an extremely immersive FPS experience, but I find that TPS games are typically more immersive for the player because they can see what they're doing (as opposed to in an FPS you don't know what your character is doing, and since you can't feel movement ingame it detaches you from the character). I mean, think about it. Does anyone really seek cover in a game like CS:S? No, but if you change everyone's view to over-the shoulder, people tend to act more realistically. Seeking cover and blindfiring.
you mean the dead one?i bet you play as the father with maybe the wife as co-op
from what i saw in the video they got swarmed, the dad got infected for sure by the daughter the wife too i believe so you might play as others...
I don't want to be a richard but if they're going to get this past ESRB they probably won't have actual children in the game.Just saying. I mean, look at GTA or saint's row, it's the same reason they don't have kids in those games.
