Screw the money, lynch those bitches. :P
hurr it's funny because we're killing people as some sort of bloodsport.

Yes. I beleive it costs more money to keep someone in jail then it does to shoot them in the head with a gun. I realize most places use lethal injection to not have a mess, but it probably costs less to make that then to keep them in jail for 100 years.

Nice job being a dumbass.

It takes around 20 years to pass between a conviction and an execution. Every year they are filing very extensive paperworks in appeals. Since, by constitutional obligation, the system has to provide them with a lawyer, the government is paying for their defense, their persecution, and every man woman and piece of paper in between them. That's thousands and thousands of dollars every appeal, every year.

1. Anyone should be allowed to request death. If you walk into a police station and say "I would like to die," you should be able to pay $100 and fill out a form before entering a shooting range. This applies to people in jail, minus the fee.
I agree.

2. We should not force the death penalty on anyone. The three reasons for this are:
  • It costs more money to kill someone than to house them for their entire lives.
  • If an innocent person dies, there's no chance to reimburse them.
  • The death penalty is a savage attempt at revenge. This is not what a "Corrections" facility is for.
I disagree.
  • I think we should go back to older ways of execution that are less expensive such as the guillotine.
  • Thats why it should only happen when there is a lot of evidence against them. If some innocent people die, I don't really care anyways.
  • As far as I know, hardly any criminals actually get corrected. We might as well kill them before they forget us over when they get out in a couple of years.

I'm sure glad Iban and Tylale aren't running the world... I think Joseph Stalin was a little bit less evil than you guys are. まほ~

Holy forget no no no.

No guillotine.

I'm sure glad Iban and Tylale aren't running the world... I think Joseph Stalin was a little bit less evil than you guys are.????
Even though he killed like 72 million people?

It depends on the crime committed. I believe that if one takes another life for absolutely no good reason, his/her life should be taken.

Even though he killed like 72 million people?

If either of those two were in charge it would be 70 times 70 million dead.

the internet is full of atheists, might as well as split the nation into smaller pieces

I actually have no strong opinion about this.

You are presented with two scenarios:
Spend money killing people for horrendous crimes, or
Spend money correcting those who grew up disadvantaged and do not know how to function properly in society.

Watch a show called Lockup on MSNBC. It will show you how our jail system revolves entirely on punishment with almost zero effort provided to rehabilitation. Some of the nicer prisoners with intelligent wardens provide shops and other jobs that will help put the prisoners on the right track, but the vast majority are a revolving door attached to a monday warehouse.

Sometimes MSNBC goes over seas and shows you polish, british, and other foreign penetentaries. Even Turkey has a vastly superior prison system and in their interviews with the prisoners, the vast majority of them are educated and looking forward to making changes. They feel like they have done wrong, and the system is on their side. That mindset is not present in American facilities. The American mentality is that "people don't go to jail for praying too hard in church, hurr de durr" so that makes it totally OK for conditions to be miserable.

Yes. Totally. Stalin murdered millions of his own people through starvation. I'm for globalized medicine, globalized healthcare, equal opportunities, a leveled education system (from each according to their ability, to each according to their need), abolition of forced death penalty, increased freedoms with the sole exception of preventing people with severe genetic disabilities from reproducing.

I'm the worst person in the world.

No, just you.
