Well, Iban, we should just go back to older, simpler, and 'more brutal' methods of execution if it costs so loving much to slam a lethal injection into the arm of a convict.

The money is not spend actually killing the motherforgeter. A bullet costs pennies. That isn't the problem.

The problem is people don't want to die and we are fortunate enough to live in a country where there is plenty of legal opportunity and rights and protections for the citizens that live inside it. I've already given this argument just last night, but to summarize:

It takes 20 years or so, on average, to go from convinction to lethal injection.

Every year, the convict is allowed to file an appeal to overturn the sentence.

Every year, the state, by constitutional mandate has to provide them with a lawyer (costs $$$).
The state then defends its own wishes with its own lawyer (costs $$$).
Between these two layers, there are a number of people handling the paperwork (costs $$$).
Finally, after more than a month of paperwork, there is a court date where the convict gets to plea his case (costs tons of $$$).

This happens every year, and unless you're in favor of abolishing constitutional rights for a lawyer and a speedy trial, you can either a) deal with it, or b) just keep them in jail.


You dumbasses are arguing for a reality that strips you of your own legal protections just so you can see more people die in the name of some sort of barbaric medieval justice. Shut the forget up.

The reason you don't get killed is because you killed him legally. I don't like the idea of a judge and jury anyways though. If I could duplicate myself, I would have a clone of me at every courthouse.

I also think that almost every crime should get the death sentence, no crimes should get bail, and that prisons should be 3 foot tall, 6.5 foot long cells something like what a dog stays in at a dog pound. They should also get the least expensive, most stuffty food we have access to. Also there should be no fancy last meal before a death sentence.

Personally, I support the Death Penalty.
As far as I am concerned, criminals, like Murderers, Rapists, Paedophiles and all the other most sick and disgusting crimes, should lead to death.
These people aren't acceptable in society, they are a major threat to everyone around them and for the good of the entire community around them, and not just local community, or even national community, also the international community, they should not be allowed to live. These people who have commited crimes so heinous that it is almost sickening to even mention, end up having lots of the taxpayers money, the people who they are a threat to, spent on them. Whether that is housing them in prisons, or sending them through lots of courts and trials, and in Britain, the re-housing and renaming of such people, they don't deserve it.

Where a noose and a stand can cost a small amount of money and immediately end the threat that these people offer to the decent and deserving members of our nations, sending them to countless trials or imprisonment can cost hundreds of Pounds or Dollars or Euros, and at the end of it, these people may be allowed back into society.
And with Paedophiles being given new names and housing in different parts of the country to protect them, that is just wrong. The person who performs deeds that really are sickening, is protected from us, with our money.

I also believe in similarly harsh punishments for many other... for lack of a nicer word, scum.
For those who live entirely off of the state, have never worked for a living, have never tried for an education, who have lots of disruptful and aggresive children, I believe in forced sterilisation.
I don't believe that the genes that these people carry are of an acceptable quality to be allowed into the national/international gene pool.

If they're going to keep the death penalty as a punishment, they should stop loving around for 40 years before carrying it out. If they're going to dole out such serious sentences, they should be serious about carrying them out. Of course that would mean they should make the requirements for a death penalty sentence EXTREMELY high. For instance, if unfalsifiable evidence turns up. Otherwise, potentially innocent people could be executed.
